I grew up dancing at the studio as a member of the Dance Company for 13 years and attended Point Park University where I received a BA in Jazz. Teaching has always been a passion of mine! I started as an assistant teacher in middle and high school and have been lucky enough to be on faculty since 2010.
As someone who spends the majority of time teaching highly technical styles of dance (ballet & jazz) it is so important to me to help my dancers understand the “why” and the “how” behind their movement. Dancers who understand their body and the physicality of their movement are able to grow quickly and eventually find more freedom and joy in their dancing. I always want my dancers to know that I’m going to love and support the person that they are while also holding them to high standards because I believe that they are capable of great things.
Success and achievement live inside the journey towards a goal, not on the other side of it. The experience is the reward!
