Birthday
I grew up dancing, singing, and acting in Pittsburgh and received a BFA in Musical Theater from Kent State University. I continued training after school when I moved to New York City and was lucky to take class with some of the greatest legends and up and coming artists in our field while also performing at and choreographing for a variety of professional regional theaters. Some of my favorite professional performance credits include Katherine in Newsies, LouAnn in Hairspray, and ensemble in 9 to 5, Mamma Mia and Anything Goes. Even during my performance years, I always had the teaching bug and taught at several dance studios and theaters and also held extra dance classes for my fellow musical theater majors throughout college! Although I love teaching all styles of dance, tap, jazz, and musical theater definitely have a special place in my heart!
My goal in my dance classes is to challenge my dancers to achieve more than they think they’re capable of when they walk through the door on the first day of classes. I work to create an environment in which we not only explore new ways of moving, but also learn from the history of the greats that came before us that paved the path for dance as it exists today.
The energy and experiences you bring into the room are uniquely yours and are what make your dancing special, so embrace these qualities as part of your artistry and performance!
